The landing areas aren’t as tight and contoured as they appear from the teeing ground.  The bunkers are easily cleared with a well struck shot.  This will  assist the player in managing his game.

For example, the Par 5 fifteenth hole at Mayacama shows the majestic Mount Saint Helena as a backdrop.  This draws your focus away from the well struck drives landing area.  Enjoy the view with your playing partners!  Prior to your shot preparation, refocus on the proper landing area. Positively visualize your drive. The right to left contour of fairway will force your drive into the center of the fairway.  The more well played drives will be assisted in the downward sloping fairway on the right side of the bunkers.  The second shot may tempt you to try for the green in two shots.  A resulting eagle or easy birdie will reward the aggressive minded golfer.
